A STUDY OF POSITIVE IMPACT ON RELATION BETWEEN ORANISATIONAL CLIMATE AND ORGANISATIONAL COMMITMENT (WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO ACADEMIC INSTITUTION)
Abstract
Organization climate is defined as a set of perceived attributes of an organization and it’s subsystems as reflected in the way an organization deals with its member’s, and issues. Organization climate can be defined as a relatively enduring quality of the internal environment that is experienced by the members, influence their behavior and can be described in terms of values of a particular set of characteristics of the organization.In the field of organizational behavior and industrial/organizational psychology, organizational commitment is, in a general sense, the employee psychological attachment to the organization.
           It can be contrast with other work related attitude such as job satisfaction defined as an employee’s feeling about their job, and organizational identification, define as the degree to which an employee experiences a “sense of oneness†with their organization.Commitment is the function of inherent sincerity of an individual, which develops the capacity to work hard and give good results even in poor and adverse circumstances. Effective employees consider commitment as both, the aspect of an individual and organizational importance.
           The person who is committed towards his job works with sincerity and honesty and efficiently sustain hard work which gives him internal satisfaction of pulling his optimum strength into work with genuineness. According to Mowday et al (1979) organizational commitment refer to the extent to which the employee demonstrate a strong desire to remain the member of the organization, the degree of willingness to exert high level of efforts for organization and belief and acceptance of the major goals and values of the organization.
           Mathieu and Zajac, (1990) has defined organizational commitment in several ways that signifies a bond between the individual and the organization. This study will show the relationship between organizational climate and organizational commitment.
